I've always been passionate—and a little bit stubborn. It's a trait that has served me well throughout life, especially during some of my most difficult moments.

Today, I work full-time in healthcare and host multiple podcasts, but one role is especially close to my heart: advocating for survivors of domestic violence, intimate partner violence, and human trafficking.

Like many survivors, I never imagined abuse would become part of my story. When I experienced domestic violence firsthand, I leaned heavily on the support of family and friends who helped me navigate one of the darkest chapters of my life. Along the way, some of them shared their own experiences with abuse. Hearing their stories opened my eyes to just how common—and often hidden—these experiences are.

That realization sparked a passion for learning, advocacy, and awareness. When I discovered the staggering statistics surrounding abuse—1 in 3 women globally and 1 in 3 men in the United States experiencing violence from an intimate partner—I knew I wanted to create a space where survivors could share their stories, feel seen, and know they are not alone.

That space became 1 in 3.

Through conversations with survivors, advocates, attorneys, therapists, researchers, and other experts, my goal is to educate, empower, and help break the silence surrounding abuse. I believe that every survivor who shares their story offers hope to someone else who may still be struggling to find their own path forward.

Healing looks different for everyone. For me, it has come through therapy, humor, music, and connecting with others who understand. That's why you'll find resources throughout this site, including crisis support information and a community playlist featuring songs that have helped survivors heal.

💜 If you're here, I want you to know this: There is hope. Healing is possible. And wherever you are in your journey, you are not alone. 💜
